To the members of DCA:

As the new president of DCAF, I write to assure you that the board and I are committed to DCAF as an organization, its mission and its future. We are dedicated to only one thing -THE DALMATIAN. Our dedication will manifest itself in many ways, but everything we do will be done within the bylaws, policies and procedures approved by the Board. We want you to be able to count on the fact that everything put forward will be done fairly and without bias.

Our primary mission has been to provide funds for projects brought to us by others and that includes DCA itself that if successful, will lead to healthier, happier Dalmatians and the subsequent benefits to their owners. That will not change.

We are also charged with the dissemination of information. That will continue, but you have my assurance that every effort will be made to check and double check the accuracy and validity of all that goes out in our name.

Because of time constraints very little business was conducted at our March 1st meeting. Our meeting with the Specialty is important, will not be brief, and will hopefully be attended by a full compliment of the members.

For the moment our fundraising emphasis is on the Pre Top 20 Gala. As of this writing we have more that 65 attending. If you have been putting off the decision or had decided not to attend, please take a moment to rethink it, knowing you are welcome and that the funds raised will be immediately and directly available to help, support and protect Dalmatians. I am willing to wager you WILL also have a good time!

There are several people in the Dalmatian community whom I have asked to be available to offer me advice and counsel. They will help me, to not only be aware of all the issues, but to also help me gain understanding. I realize that the understanding must come from ALL sides of every issue. I gratefully acknowledge Ken Berg's dedication to DCAF and thank him profusely for his efforts on behalf of the Dalmatian. I am counting on being able to tap into his vast knowledge and understanding as we go forward.
