DALMATIAN CLUB OF AMERICA
FOUNDATION, INC.
HERITAGE SOCIETY
What is your legacy?
When you reflect on what has meaning in your life, along with your family and friends, there have been Dalmatians-one or
many. What will you do for them?
As you consider what you may be able to pass on -- or even give during your lifetime -- there are options that can fulfill
multiple objectives:
- Ensure that your resources are used for your wishes
- Protect your family
- Benefit from tax savings
- Demonstrate your appreciation for family, friends and charitable organizations
BEQUESTS
In many cases, it is as simple as including language in your will, such as the examples:
For an unrestricted bequest:
"I give, devise and bequeath [the sum of ___ dollars}, {all or ___ percent of the rest, remainder and residue of my estate
of every kind and description (including lapsed legacies and devises)} to The Dalmatian Club of America Foundation for its
general corporate purposes."
For a specific purpose:
"I give, devise and bequeath {the sum of ___ dollars}, {all or ___ percent of the rest, remainder and residue of my estate of
every kind and description (including lapsed legacies and devises)} to the Dalmatian Club of America Foundation to [create an
endowment from which only the income is to be used], {to conduct research} for the following purpose: {state the purpose}."
The easiest way to accomplish what you intend is to work with an attorney who specializes in estate planning. If you don't
have an attorney, you can ask friends or co-workers for references or consult the website of The American Bar Association
http://www.abanet.org.
ESTABLISHING A TRUST
Your attorney or financial advisor can work with you to review the best way to set aside some of your resources for DCAF,
including what vehicles will benefit you and your family.
If you would like to discuss the process of establishing a bequest or creating a trust for DCAF, contact the chair of the DCAF
Heritage Society, Carol O'Brien Email
Please consider how you can give back to help the Dalmatian have a healthier future.
