- All bidders must register by establishing a bidder's profile. Registration is one time process and
allows bidding on any item offered at auction. Registration may be completed via the on-line registration
form or by contacting the Auction Coordinator:
- A bidder's profile will include; name, e-mail address, mailing address, day & evening phone numbers,
screen name or bidding name (person's name, kennel name or a pseudonym, if desired).
- There will be a pre-set minimum bid for every item auctioned based on the value of the item.
- Bids will increase in pre-set increments. Bid increments may differ from auction to auction depending
on the value of the item.
- Single bids may be submitted indicating the *maximum* amount a bidder is willing to pay. If the written
bid is greater than the largest electronic bid, that bidder will win the item with a bid of one increment greater
than the last bid. This method of bidding is recommended for bidders participating while not on-line or for people
who are unable to check the web site frequently. This method of bidding will be approved at the discretion of the
Auction Coordinator. All single bids must be handled through the Auction Coordinator either electronically (e-mail)
or in writing.
- Two days prior to the bidding expiration date, the auction item will be marked with "Going...", the
next day the item will be marked with "Going, going..." and at midnight Pacific Standard Time of the expiration
day, it will be marked "Going, going, gone!" and will be considered sold to the highest bidder at that time.
- Shortly thereafter, the winning bidder will be contacted by the Auction Coordinator and payment will
need to be made via check or money order to the DCAF Treasurer. Shipping charges will be above and beyond the
amount of the bid and will be figured and added to the bid total. The winning bidder will be given the option to
pay for shipping only or to pay for insurance also.
- Once payment has been received, the winning bidder will be sent the item purchased and supporting
documentation.
